The Town of Islip Is a Big Tent
"Islip" means different things depending on who you ask. The village of Islip on the south shore is different from Central Islip inland, which is different from West Islip near the Babylon border. The Town of Islip covers all of them plus Bay Shore, Oakdale, Sayville, and more.
We have done jobs in every one of those hamlets. The housing stock varies but the underlying permit process and the overall spec conversation are consistent because the Town of Islip building department handles all non-village addresses.
What Islip Homes Need From a Insulation Contractor
South shore capes and ranches. Islip, East Islip, West Islip. 1950s-60s post-war tract with rear additions. Insulated vinyl or Spray Foam for bay-adjacent.
Central Islip and Brentwood ranches. Inland, less salt concern, more affordable spec. blown-in cellulose vinyl is the workhorse here.
Village of Islip historic character. Around Main Street in the village proper. 1890s-1920s homes that want dense-pack cellulose or blown-in cellulose to preserve character.
Newer 1990s-2000s subdivisions. Parts of East Islip and West Sayville border. Builder vinyl that is aging out. Straightforward vinyl insulate.
Islip Things We Think About on Every Job
Bay proximity varies. Islip and East Islip have bay-adjacent neighborhoods with salt exposure. Central Islip is 5-6 miles inland and salt is not a factor. We spec by location, not by town name.
Wall insulation on older stock. Same as Bay Shore. Pre-1980 Islip capes and ranches benefit from open-cell spray foam upgrades. We quote insulated vs standard on almost every cape.
Village addresses. Village of Islip has its own small architectural sensitivity in the historic core. We handle it.
Dumpster permits for narrow lots. Common in older Islip neighborhoods. We pull them where needed.
Mature tree cover. Good for shade, tough for painting touch-ups. We plan around it.

Reviews from Town of Islip customers
Review 1: "We had three contractors quote our West Islip colonial for Spray Foam. Carlos was the only one who climbed a ladder on the first visit and looked at the back gables. The other two quoted from the driveway. The Spray Foam install was flawless and the house has never looked better." — Andrew M., West Islip · closed-cell spray foam · 2024
Review 2: "Honest pricing, real humans on the phone, and a crew that shows up on time. That is what we got from Long Island Insulation Co. on our Central Islip ranch insulate last summer. Three neighbors asked for their number." — Lisa C., Central Islip · blown-in cellulose · 2023
